Celerity is a dynamic and forward-thinking business law firm based in Port Louis, Mauritius, strategically positioned at the crossroads of Africa, Asia and global financial markets. We provide sophisticated legal solutions to both local and international clients, supporting their ambitions in an increasingly interconnected and fast-evolving business landscape.

Founded by Usaama Dauharry in late 2022, Celerity Prime is the realisation of a vision to create a boutique practice with a strong focus on corporate and financial services. Since its inception, the firm has grown into a team of skilled and forward-thinking lawyers, united by a commitment to client success.

We understand the complex challenges that businesses and individuals face when navigating the legal landscape. The firm was established on the view that clients with sophisticated matters should not have to choose between senior attention and technical depth.

Our team blends local expertise with international training, offering both barristers and attorneys with diverse backgrounds. In a fast-paced market we take a solution-driven approach, ensuring our counsel goes beyond Mauritian law to address commercial and pragmatic challenges.

A vast majority of our team members are internationally trained and admitted to both international bars and the Mauritian Bar. That combined exposure is an advantage when dealing with clients, and a necessity when advising on cross-border transactions.

Matters are led by the partner who scoped them. The firm is deliberately small, and the practice areas it accepts work in are deliberately narrow — corporate, financial services, funds, private wealth and the disputes that follow from them.

International perspective

A majority of the team is internationally trained and admitted both in Mauritius and abroad, including at the Bars of England and Wales. Our counsel has also been formed inside an international law firm and a Mauritian investment bank.

Admissions include Middle Temple and Inner Temple; prior experience at BLC Robert & Associates, Eversheds Sutherland (Mauritius) and MCB Capital Markets.
Commercially practical advice

Advice that stops at the legal position is unfinished. We work through the operational consequence — what a licence condition will require of the business, whether a structure can actually be administered, how a dispute is most cheaply resolved.
