Biography

Rakshita is a duly admitted Attorney-at-Law and Senior Associate at Celerity Prime. Her practice focuses on financial services regulation, investment funds, AML/CFT compliance, corporate advisory and dispute resolution.

Rakshita was admitted to practise law in Mauritius in March 2023. She holds an LLB with First Class Honours from Aberystwyth University and completed the Law Practitioners' Vocational Course in Mauritius.

Before joining Celerity Prime, Rakshita began her career at Eversheds Sutherland (Mauritius), where she worked as an Associate and acting Compliance Officer. During that time, she gained experience in employment law, corporate advisory and AML/CFT compliance, including workplace matters, employment documentation and compliance reviews.

At Celerity Prime, Rakshita advises and assists on a range of corporate, regulatory and financial services matters. She is involved in applications and regulatory submissions to the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius, including in relation to Payment Intermediary Services, investment dealer activities, fund structures and other regulated financial services activities.

She also assists with the drafting and review of fund and corporate documentation, including private placement memoranda, limited partnership agreements, subscription agreements, investment management agreements, advisory agreements, AML/CFT policies, internal control manuals, constitutional documents and commercial agreements.

Rakshita's practice also extends to contentious and pre-contentious matters, including debt recovery, contractual disputes, shareholder and corporate disputes, employment matters and trust-related complaints. She regularly assists with pleadings, statutory demands, affidavits, settlement agreements and litigation-related correspondence.

Rakshita is valued for her rigour, clarity of drafting and ability to support matters that require both technical precision and commercial awareness.

Outside her legal practice, Rakshita enjoys video games, anime and Korean dramas, and has a broader interest in languages and different cultures.
