Biography

Vaani Vyapoory is an Associate at Celerity Prime and a Barrister-at-Law admitted to the Bar of Mauritius. She was called to the Utter Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple in 2022 and subsequently admitted to practise in Mauritius in 2024.

She holds an LLB (Hons), a Graduate Diploma in Law, and an LLM in Taxation and Business Law with Distinction. Her master's dissertation focused on the taxation of artificial intelligence and its implications for Mauritius, reflecting her interest in the intersection of law, technology and emerging business models.

She began her career as a self-employed barrister, during which time she gained experience in litigation and advising clients in employment, contractual, commercial and tort matters.

Vaani joined the Celerity team in 2025 and has since developed a practice focused primarily on employment law, business law, contract drafting and review, and debt recovery. She regularly advises and assists employers and employees on a broad range of workplace matters, including disciplinary proceedings, performance management, terminations of employment, compromise agreements, workplace policies, and compliance with the Mauritian employment law framework.

She adopts a practical and solutions-oriented approach to legal issues, assisting clients in navigating workplace challenges while balancing legal compliance with commercial realities. Her work also includes the drafting and review of business agreements, legal opinions, notices and employment-related documentation.

Beyond her professional commitments, Vaani maintains a strong interest in music, the arts and community service. She remains active in community initiatives and youth engagement programmes, reflecting her commitment to both professional excellence and social impact.
